- The Flagstaff house has been changed to Jubilee House
- Reasons for the change in name is yet unknown
- The NPP and NDC have always been in a tussle over the naming of the seat of the presidency
The seat of the presidency has been officially rebranded as "Jubilee House".
Previously termes the "Flagstaff House", the main NPP and NDC governments have engaged in fierce debates over the official name for the seat of the presidency.
But taking a walk or drive through the seat of government, you will find that the seat of government now has a new name. When the current administration took power in January 2017, it was unclear whether the government will maintain the current name (Flagstaff House) or reverse it.
Nana Addo in a press statement has argued that the name; 'Flagstaff House' is a colonial term used by Ghana's colonial powers. He believes it is time to liberate Ghana through the new term 'Jubilee House'.
