- Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong, has chastised some youth who went to express their support for Dr. Stephen Opuni
- He stated that it was wrong for them to defend someone who is facing charges of corruption
The member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has chastised some people who expressed their support for Dr. Stephen Opuni, a former Chief Executive Officer at COCOBOD.
In a report by MyNewsGH.com, Kennedy Agyapong expressed his disappointment at the fact that some youth besieged the Accra High Court to express their support for Dr. Opuni, who is currently facing a total of 27 charges.
According to him, it is difficult to determine the reasons why they would undertake such an action, especially since the man is being accused of corruption.
Speaking on Oman FM’s National Agenda, which was televised on Net 2, he said ''those people should be put in a slave ship and sent outside the shores of Ghana to go and learn and come back.”
He charged the youth to channel their energies on profitable ventures rather than wasting it on corrupt politicians.
To him, it was strange that people would express their support for someone who had defrauded the state, only for them to turn around and make demands from the government.
