He said that even unmarried women should check for themselves if they can comfortably call their men they dating “my lord” before they go ahead with the marriage.

His comment has attracted many reactions from some social media users; most men have supported the comments, while some women seem to disagree.

On the official Facebook page of YEN.com.gh, some of the ladies believe that if they are to address their husbands as “my lord”, then the men must equally do so.

Others have argued that calling their husbands “my lords” could make them feel inferior, and the husbands disrespecting them.

Daisy Amanpong: “Men must learn to respect women remember women are not doormats.

Melchizederk Emmanuel Zutah:  “Its a Perfect Message of Advice bt yaanom will never take it and will even question the msg.... If they did that like they do to their pastors like many broken homes will still be intact... U respect someone outside than ur husband u live with at home.... Sounds ridiculous to me... That's the definition of a woman in the Bible.... Submission n Respect... This is why many homes break these days.... Not Easy to Find a wife material this days either....”

Reggie Frimps: “I don't know why women have issues on this..don't u call your bosses "boss" or don't u give respect to heads etc?? So what's the problem for calling your husband "my lord".”

Kwabena Barcelona: “I see absolutely nothing wrong with this. Even the bible says, God is the head of man and man is the head of the family and if a man calls God as his lord, what makes it morally suicidal for a woman to call her husband her lord? The holy book even makes it clear. Moreover, calling your husband your lord doesn't mean you don't regard God, the creator of this universe, as the lord of this world.”

Mawutor Selasi: “Men have their role as well. To Love,Respect and Care. If a man is able to play these role, trust me ,automatically a woman will be humble to you without knowingly. You don't play your role but always demanding your from a woman, how possible.”

Meanwhile, the debate is still on.
