- Former President John Dramani Mahama has cautioned Ghanaians to be wary of some fake social media accounts created in his name
- The President clarified that any other account is “unauthorized and unknown” to him or his office
Former President John Dramani Mahama has urged Ghanaians to take notice of his official social media accounts, insisting many fake handles have been created in his name.
He said although there are many accounts bearing similar names to his, only one is authentic and belongs to him.

He made these comments in a Facebook post on Monday. The former President to disregard any post coming from the other “unauthorized and unknown” accounts.
Mahama wrote: “There are many pages on Facebook using my name or a combination of my official name. I wish to make it known, once more, that this is my only Facebook Account (@JDMahama) and my twitter handle is @JDMahama.
“Any other account is unauthorized & unknown to me or my Office. Thanks.”
This is the second time Mahama has issued such a disclaimer following another episode back in 2017.
A statement from the office of the former President indicated that “some members of the party are seeking to solicit information from executives and members of the NDC, claiming that they are being sponsored by the Office of HE John Dramani Mahama.”
