- GAF spokesperson says no one can "push" anyone into the Ghana Armed Forces
- He says recruitment into the GAF is and will continue to be by merit
The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), via its Public Relations Officer, Colonel Aggrey Quarshie, has responded to The Member of Parliament (MP), For the Assin Central, Mr. Kennedy Agyapong, over his allegations of protocol precedence during recruitment.
According to Colonel Aggrey Quarshie, recruitment into the Ghana Armed Forces has always been by merit, and will continue to be just that.

The high ranking army official went on to say that the people wrongly think that paying someone will help them get into the Ghana Armed Forces.
“People think that if I pay money to somebody I can get myself in there. If all your documentation is correct you stand an equal chance like any other person to be picked,” He said.
Speaking on Kumasi-based Ultimate FM, Colonel Aggrey Quarshie said there is no chance for anyone to "push" people into the Ghana Armed Forces
“People make these statements because they have the right to say whatever they want to say but we are also focusing on our process. ..There is no way anybody will be recruited by unfair means”, he said.
