- Sarkodie says rumors of his move to join the Zylofon Media family is false
- According to Sark, even though he respects and appreciates the contribution of Zylofon to the music Ghanaian industry, he is not joining them
Ghanaian rapper Michael Owusu Addo, known in showbiz as Sarkodie, has poured cold water on reports suggesting he would join Zylofon Media.
The award-winning hiplife artiste has been in the news in recent times following reports that he has agreed to join the mega-rich record label.
Zylofon Media has completely taken over the Ghana music industry, and have signed some of the biggest artistes in the country.
The likes of Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Becca, among others have all been signed onto the record label in the last 12 months.
Reports circulating in the media claimed that Sarkodie is next in line to be signed, however, the rapper has denied such reports.
Speaking on Accra-based Starr FM, the BET winner acknowledged that Zylofon are doing a great job, but described reports about he joining them as “an April fool prank”.
“I think Zylofon is doing so well for the industry, and I respect what they are doing for the industry. For people to say I am going to Zylofon is more like an April fool prank,” Sarkodie said.
Sarkodie is currently the CEO of Sarkcess Music, which also has signees such as Akwaboah and Strongman.
