List of performers for 2018 VGMAs out

- Organisers of the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) have released the list of performers for the event on Saturday, April 14.

- Sarkodie, Fancy Gadam, Samini, Tiwa Savage and Akosua Agyepong are among the performers for the night

- However, two of Ghana's topmost artistes, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy are not on the list

The list of performers for this year's Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) has been released.

Sarkodie, Samini, Kwesi Arthur, Joe Mettle, King Promise, Kidi and Fancy Gadam are some of the artistes billed to perform.

Others are Efya, Adina, MzVee, Kuami Eugene, Praye and Akosua Agyepong.

Nigeria's Tiwa Savage and South Africa's Nasty C complete the list as the African artistes for the night.

Curiously, Dancehall artistes Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy are missing from the list.

As two of Ghana's best music performers currently, their absence from the list has left some questions on the lips of Ghanaians.

It is not yet known if the move to exclude the two has something to do with a notice put out by Zylofon Media, managers of the two musicians, about the use of their artistes for events.

The 2018 VGMAs comes off at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC) on Saturday, April 14, 2018.

This year's awards ceremony is the 19th edition and it is under the theme “Our Music Beyond Borders.”

Undoubtedly, the biggest night in Ghana's music industry, it will honour players in the industry for their works over the 2017/2018 music year.

Rapper Sarkodie has the highest number of nominations with nine including the 'Artiste of the Year.'

Gospel artiste and last year's 'Artiste of the Year' winner, Joe Mettle follows with seven nominations.

Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, the late Ebony Reigns, and new kid on the block, Kidi have six nominations each.
