Shatta Wale to win 'Artiste of the Year"?

Self-acclaimed dancehall act and Zylofon Media signee, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has ‘charged’ his SM fans with a picture of himself hours to the announcement of the ‘Artiste of the Year’ award.

The award-winning dancehall act took to his Instagram account and shared a photo of himself with the caption, “Glory”.

The dancehall act who is making a return to the awards ceremony has been nominated in a number of categories and is in the running to becoming the “Artiste of the Year”.

Shatta Wale who is the latest signee at Nana Appiah Mensah’s Zylofon Media has been in the media for many reasons and has been tipped by his ardent fans to pick more than one award.

The controversial artiste was in the news for many reasons in 2017 and pputs him in a comfortable position to win an accolade at Ghana’s biggest night of music.

He produced many hit songs which added to an impressive 109 songs he made in the year 2017 alone.

Among his popular songs that gained massive airplay include ‘Ayoo’, ‘Taking Over’ and ‘Freedom’.

The singer also made a lot of bad PR with the incident where he slapped one of his bodyguards on stage during Bola Ray’s ‘S Concert’.

He however managed to get a lot of positives from the issue when he reportedly purchased a motorbike for the ‘slapped’ bodyguard as a way of ‘appeasing’ him.

Shatta Wale fell out with Music Awards organizers, Charter House after it was reported that the musician had insulted them.

The impasse led to the musician being sidelined by the event organizers for 3 years.
