A magistrate court in Koforidua has remanded into prison custody four of five suspects for their alleged involvement in the murder of aircraft engineer, Prince Kwabena Kumi during Easter.
The fifth person, Okyere Kwabena Emmanuel, was granted a police enquiry bail with two sureties to allow him to write the ongoing WASSCE.
The suspects are Samson Anim, driver of the Hyundai bus the victim boarded before he died, Ebenezer Asante, Samuel Peprah, Frank Konadu and Emmanuel Okyere, the 18-year-old who is writing the WASSSCE.
According to Citi News court reporter, the suspects are to reappear before the court on May 3, 2018. The court was presided over by His Worship Mr Eric Daning.
The suspects were arrested by personnel of the Eastern Regional Police Command led by the regional crime officer, Chief Superintendent David Kofi Gyabaa, for their alleged involvement in the murder of the aeronautic engineer.
The 34-year-old engineer died mysteriously after his car was allegedly seized by the police at Akroso for suspected drunk-driving.
According to the family, the deceased, Prince Kobina Kumi, an aeronautic engineer with the African World Airlines, was found dead between Akroso and Asuboa with bullet wounds after his car was seized by the police.
The family further alleged that the police prevented the deceased from boarding any commercial car after they seized his vehicle for suspected drunk-driving.
