Patapaa Amisty, popularly known for his hit song, ‘One Corner’, has been in the news for myriad reasons. Chief among them is the controversy he was embroiled in following the just-ended VGMAs.
The artiste who missed out on ‘The Most Popular Song’ accolade complained bitterly after he was pipped to the award by Fancy Gadam.
Not too long ago, Patapaa granted an interview to TV personality, Deloris Frimpong-Manso, popularly known as Delay.
The 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards nominee, in the wide-ranging interview, delved deep into his personal life and career as a Ghanaian musician.
However, his interview was not bereft of controversy as it appeared he ‘goofed’ slightly in answering one of the questions; or so it seemed.
Speaking on the Delay Show, Patapaa caused a stir when he was asked about his alcohol intake.
The singer made a startling revelation when he said that he had never tasted alcohol in his life but drinks only Guinness.
His response to the question generated massive debate on social media with many people mocking the singer for not knowing the content of Guinness.
The response given by the singer was met by hilarious backlash on social media which have started going viral.
However, other loyal fans of the musician have defended the artiste by saying that he meant ‘Malta Guinness’ which was non-alcoholic.
Here is how some Ghanaians on social media reacted to Patapaa’s response on drinking alcohol:
Communion dier 3y3
Paulu wanted to know if Guinness was a drug
Amewugbe thinks Patapaa is in the wrong profession
Herty said Guinness was like Kalypo to the musician
