The polls, which came off after a series of setbacks, was held on Monday, April 23, 2018.
Prior to the elections, Fancy Gadam recorded a video of himself urging students of the premier university to cast their votes in favour of Ewura Karim.

Other candidates, Derrick Schandorf Ayirebi-Acquah polled 317 votes representing 5.30%; while Kingsley Adu-Otchere polled 330 votes representing 5.6%.
As none of the candidates had the required 50% + 1 votes, a run-off will be organized between Clement Bofa-Oppong and Sylvester Amoako who topped the polls.
