4 unbelievable reasons why young Ghanaians are abusing tramadol

Tramadol abuse has become the order of the day in Ghana. It has even become troubling with the youth who think it is one of the fastest ways of staying strong.

The Food and Drugs Authority and the health Ministry are making efforts to deal with the situation. Joint efforts with security agencies are also being made to arrest and bring to book persons dealing in the sale of Tramadol in various parts of the country.

The volume approved by the FDA to be sold is 50mg and 100mg, much as 250mg however is being sold on the markets.

1. To last longer in bed

Being able to last longer in bed is one of the biggest burdens of most young people. Young men, especially feel the need to satisfy their partners in bed. According to recent reports, young men take tramadol so they can last longer in bed, or probably delay ejaculation.

YEN.com.gh reported earlier that some young men in Old Fadama who are now fed up with tramadol gave shocking revelation on how the drug can make them last for as long as long as three to four minutes.

2. To stay up

This may sound shocking but from some of the revelations that have come from tramadol abuse is the fact that some young Ghanaians take tramadol just to stay awake to be able to do more, either at work or something else.

3. To hustle

Another reason why tramadol abuse has become very common among some Ghanaian youth is that they want to have more power to ‘hustle’ and work hard. This reason for tramadol abuse has led several of them to take it without thinking about the harmful effects.

4. To be ‘high’

This is like the weirdest reason though. People use this as a substitute for ‘heroine’ or ‘weed’ to make them get high and fee on top of the world.

Recent surveys have shown that the drug is not only being abused by some youth but also by some market women, drivers and in some cases students.
