- A 38-year-old mother has beaten her daughter to death
- Larteley Mensah secretly buried her daughter after the development
- Police are currently hunting for Larteley's accomplices
Police officials at Korle-Gonno in Accra have arrested a mother who secretly buried her sick daughter after beating her to death.
38-year-old Larteley Mensah is reported to have warned her daughter - Tani Sanni - against vomiting around the house without covering it.
Tani Sanni was suffering from a strange skin disease and had been separated from her mother thus living with her dad for quite awhile but when her health started getting worse, she was brought to her mum.
After beating her daughter to death, Larteley ran to the help of two closed confidants - her boyfriend and another close friend - who helped her bury the child at midnight at Lavender Hill.
The place of burial - Lavender Hill - is an area in Jamestown situated in close proximity to where liquid waste is disposed into the sea and notorious for its stench.
There are so many unanswered questions about this development including the reason why the mother and father failed to seek health care instead of treating their daughter to no avail at home.
Meanwhile, police officials at the Korle-Bu District Police say they are currently chasing after the accomplices of the secret burial.
In fact, the Korle Bu District Police Commander, DSP Theophilus Esilfie, has identified the accomplices as Adorkor and Ebenezer Annor, Larteley’s boyfriend.
