Kumawood actor Kwaku Manu was arrested at Ejisu in the Ashanti Region on Thursday, April 26, 2018 for allegedly trading in unregistered fruit drinks.
According to reports, Kwaku Manu was arrested by the Ejisu-Juaben Police Command at the Ejisu market while promoting his new product called Drop Fruit drink with the support of some of his acting colleagues.
He was said to have retorted: “What should we do again?”, after a police officer had asked him to park their Kia truck with registration number AS 9359 – 13 properly since according to the officer, the car was parked on the wrong side of the road.
He was then asked by the police officer to follow him to the police station where he was arrested and put in cell.
But Kwaku Manu, in a video sighted by YEN.com.gh has revealed how the police maltreated him after he was taken to the station and put behind bars.
According to him, he was pierced with sharp objects for an offense he didn’t commit.
Kwaku Manu does not understand why a citizen of Ghana would be arrested and maltreated when making an effort to create employment for himself and others.
He therefore cautioned the Ghana police officers to be careful of how they deal with and treat citizens.
Meanwhile, Kwaku Manu is on record for saying that he does not see the need for him to learn to speak a write the English language because he is comfortable with Twi, and the fortune he has made from acting in Kumawood.
