Ghanaian boxer Isaac Dogboe meets with Nana Addo

Isaac Dogboe, at age 23, became the youngest Ghanaian world champion, when he beat American Jessie Magdaleno to win the WBO World Super Bantamweight Title.

The bout took place at the Liacouras Center on the campus of Temple University in Philadelphia, USA, in the early hours of Sunday.

With such a historic win, the elated boxer was all smiles when President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo extended an invitation to him to the Jubilee House.

Social media users reacted in different ways:

@marrajj wrote: "For sure, we really proud of him."

@alexis.tao sent in a request, saying: "Please, Mr President, keep on being you for your country and our continent. Careful with the US etc Long live the young champ!"

@damtie19 however wondered: "... I’m I the only one comparing their heights? and @harrybabe3030 advised him, saying "Congratulations Isaac, keep flying the Ghana flag higher and higher."

Passing remarks on the historic achievement, the president noted that Ghana is proud of Dogboe, and there was certainty that he is destined for greatness.
