'Gringo' is a world class music video – Rex Omar

Legendary Ghanaian highlife musician, Rex Omar has lauded Zylofon-signed dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, for his new music video dubbed “Gringo”.

The self-acclaimed dancehall king has been trending on various social media platforms after releasing his much-talked about music video which was recently shoot in the United States.

Shatta Wale after dropping the ‘Gringo’ music video, a new single from his upcoming ‘Reign’ album has received mixed feelings from entertainment fans on social media.

After the release of the music video, some entertainment fans have commended the artiste, while others claim the song is lyrically poor for the self-acclaimed dancehall king.

Some critics also hold the views that, Shatta Wale resorted to shooting a 7-minute-movie that does not relate to the song, instead of a music video.

But the management of the controversial artiste, Zylofon Music have disclosed in an interview that the ‘Gringo’ music video is the most expensive work ever shoot in the entire music career of the artiste.

However, sharing his views on the music video on Monday, Rex Omar has silenced all the negative critics about Wale’s latest work.

In a Facebook post, the veteran musician insisted that, “Gringo” hasn’t deviated from the dancehall genre, it is a “world class music video”.

Rex Omar also added that, “Gringo is a real dance hall tune and the video is world class”.

Shatta Wale’s ‘Gringo’ was directed by an ace Nigerian music video director, Sesan, which was shoot in two locations in Texas, namely the cities of San Antonio and Blanco and also produced by David Nguyen.
