Auntie Mama, sister of late highlife singer Jewel Ackah, has revealed how former president of the republic of Ghana John Mahama supported the highlife legend whiles he was on his sick bed.

The sister of the late veteran musician in an interview, told Feeling Daddy on Empire Entertainment Review on Empire 102.7 FM how much the former president sent to support the ailing musician on a monthly basis.

She showered praises on the former president saying for his kindness and revealed that, “ May God bless him , since he got to know Jewel Ackah and they become friends, he supported him financially by sending him GHc 2,000 every month and even when Jewel was admitted at 37 Military hospital he came over to visit him on several occasions followed by a GHc 10,000 donation when he was discharged”

She also used the opportunity to thank Honorable Kennedy Agyapong for also supporting the family of the late musician financially.

The late singer received many donations from the NDC including a sum of GHC 2,000 donated by an NDC Group towards his medication in August 2017.

The music legend battled mild stroke for the past 10 years. He died at the age of 73 on Friday 27th April, 2018.

Jewel Ackah is known for popular songs like ‘Manye Yie, ‘Asomdwoe Hene,’ ‘Jesus’,’ among others.

He is also the composer of the popular party anthem for the National Democratic Congress and had 27 albums to his credit.
