John Dumelo beats Kojo Oppong Nkrumah in new presidential poll

Popular Ghanaian actor John Dumelo will emerge victorious if he contests for the presidency against Deputy Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah.

This was revealed in a social media poll conducted by YEN.com.gh.

According to the poll results, 53 percent of respondents preferred a John Dumelo presidency to Kojo Oppong Nkrumah's.

Answering the question, "If these two young politicians stood for a Presidential election in Ghana, who would you vote for?", 783 respondents chose John Dumelo while 704 voted for Oppong Nkrumah.

John Dumelo is known as a supporter of with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

After coming into the political limelight by endorsing the NDC in the run-up to the 2012 general elections, John Dumelo has been part of the party and was actively involved in the party's campaign for the 2016 elections which they lost.

After the NDC lost power, John Dumelo's name came up as one people who were keeping a V8 Land Cruiser belonging to the state.

Though John has on many occasions denied those allegations, he has not been able to get it out people's minds and he occasionally mocked over the scandal.

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, on the other hand, is widely known as an accomplished broadcaster with Joy FM where he hosted the stations Super Morning Show.

After leaving Joy FM in 2014, he set up a private equity firm, West Brownstone Capital and joined active politics a year later winning the ruling New Patriotic Party's (NPP) parliamentary primary for the Ofoase Ayirebi constituency in 2015.

He went ahead to win the seat in the 2016 general elections.

Kojo is considered as one of the finest young politicians in Ghana currently and is highly tipped for future success.
