The Manso Nkwanta Police Command in the Ashanti Region, has arrested 17 persons believed to be armed robbers.
According to a report by 3news.com, residents in the area mounted roadblocks after they got wind of the activities of armed robbers.
It was further revealed that the armed robbers however forced their way through the roadblock with the help of a Sprinter bus.
The suspects, who allegedly attacked some residents of Tontonkrom, were however apprehended on Sunday, 29th April 2018 by a patrol team
According to the police, the suspects initially stated that they were spiritualists attending a member’s funeral to perform some rituals for his burial.
“Talisman, guns and other weapons were retrieved from the suspects”, the Assembly Member for Datano, Samuel Amponsah, revealed.
YEN.com.gh understands that the suspects are currently in the custody of the Ashanti Regional Police Command.
