Pappy Kojo life

Jason Gaise who is better known as Pappy Kojo, is the son to Kofi Badu and Rosemond Gaise and was born on 13th February 1989. He is also known as Fante Van Damme, Realer No. Hailing from Takoradi which is in the Western Region of Ghana, Kojo is a Ghanaian hip hop and hiplife artist. One of his songs is “Realer No” for which he is famous.

Pappy Kojo’s liking for music developed at his early childhood days. He used to participate in rap shows which were organized locally and rapped with Reggie Rockstone, Obrafour, Lord Kenya, Tic Tac and others. In the year 2004, he left Ghana and went to Italy. With time, his love towards rap music grew, he got influenced by The Shady Aftermath Camp, Obrafour, and Michael Jackson. He posted songs on YouTube which were sung by him. Kojo also started to record some of his own rap with some Italian and Ghanaian music producers. He got a bit of limelight after this.

In the year 2004 things turned around for him after Kojo and Ghanaian superstar Joey B. recorded together. Kojo’s first official single “Realer No” which also features Joey B was denoted as one of the most popular hits. Later he went to South Africa with Joey B for their performance at Big Brother finale. Later in 2015, he won the award for the hip hop Song of the year. Apart from this, he was also nominated for the Best Newcomer in Africa at the Afrimma awards.
