Domestic animals are one of the major treasures that humanity has ever had. In fact, in Ghana it is the joy of every family and household to have domestic animals in their possession.
But the love for these animals tend not to last when sickness takes hold of these animals and there are no animal doctors or veterinarians to take good care of them.
This is the situation across some 15 communities in the Volta Region where a miracle 14-year-old boy is doing wonders in catering for the medical needs of livestock in these communities.
The boy, Oscar Abutiate, who operates as the only “veterinary doctor” at Worawora and its environs in the Volta Region, says he learnt the skill from his father who is now old and retired from the job.
Meanwhile, the boy, in an interaction with the media has revealed that though his miracle work is appreciated by society, he often does not get paid for his services.
“What pains me is that I work for some people and they tell me to come another day. There are others who don’t even want to pay”, he revealed in an interview with Adom FM.
With such talent and exposure it is the dream of young Abutiate to become a renowned doctor in the country.
