He later joined the University of Ghana to pursue a Masters in Strategic Marketing.

As a rapper, controversy is almost sure to follow you wherever you go especially if you make it big and Okyeame Kwame is no exception. After winning the Ghana Music Awards in 2009, the Rap Doctor found himself on the warpath with fellow Ghanaian musician Michael Kwabena Okyere Darko popularly known as Obrafour. Sparks started flying after Okyeame declared himself the Best Rapper Alive and even released a song with the acronym BRA (Best Rapper Alive).
This declaration did not go well with Obrafour who was also doing well at the time despite having not won the prestigious Artist of the Year Award. The beef escalated quickly, and Obrafour even challenged Okyeame Kwame for a rap battle in the street to which the latter never showed. Kwame allegedly refused to show up because he felt winning the Artist of the Year Award was vindictive enough.
In an interview for Multi TV in 2015, Okyeame had this to say about the beef,
It’s Obrafour who had a feud with me. I have positioned the Okyeame Kwame brand as the decent rapper arguably who gives value to patrons. How else can I get to show patrons that it is decent? Unless in the face of adversary. So Obrafour coming out to make those pronouncements was opportunity for me to prove I’m a gentleman. So I realized he wanted a comeback and I wondered why as an artist he would hit me and Obuor for a comeback. But I realized it wasn’t personal, it was business. So I asked myself how I could use that to my advantage. I decided not to mind him. Not minding him did two things for me, one, it made his fans become endeared to me because I didn’t insult their icon and it also made my fans realize I was really gentle. What I didn’t understand about the beef was, he did the song, did the video, did the performance, but the media said I had a beef with him but from the look of things he was rather beating me up.
Two years after that interview and there was still speculation the two rappers had bad blood, but Obrafour quenched these rumors. The rapper addressed the beef last in a Facebook interaction in 2017 and said, ‘There’s nothing bad between me and Okyeame Kwame; there’s no misunderstanding between me and him as you hear around. Okyeame Kwame is a fantastic rapper, and I like him very much, so people should stop spreading false news about us.’
