Was Wisa’s visit to the presidency to “thank” Akufo-Addo for “intervening” in his court case?

- Wisa Greid had paid a visit to the President at the Jubilee House

- He was said to be there to inform the President about the official opening of his record label’s office

- But it is being rumoured that Wisa actually visited the President to “thank” him for intervening on his behalf in the court case

YEN.com.gh reported the news of Wisa paying a courtesy call on President Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House on Thursday, May 3, 2018.

According to the report, Wisa had gone to the Presidency with his record label’s team members to officially inform the President about his new song and also the launch of an office for his record label.

In one of the photos, Wisa is captured shaking hands with the President, and there is a look of satisfaction on the faces of the two gentlemen.

Wisa Greid was full of smiles just like the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

However, as usual, the rumour mills are churning out all sorts of information about Wisa’s visit to the presidency.

It is being rumoured that there is a real reason behind Wisa’s “surprise” visit to Akufo-Addo, which is far from just going to inform him about the opening of an office.

Some people are claiming that Wisa actually visited the President to show “appreciation” for a seemingly critical role he played in freeing him from a possible jail term.

According to the rumours, Akufo-Addo, might have "begged" the court on Wisa's behalf to lessen his punishment.

These conclusions are being drawn according to relationship between Wisa and Akufo-Addo.

It could be recalled that Wisa was one of the celebrities who endorsed Akufo-Addo’s candidature, and openly declared support for him in the electioneering period of 2016.

In a TV programme monitored by YEN.com.gh way back in 2016, Wisa was captured urging all Ghanaians to throw their weight behind then candidate Akufo-Addo because he was the only one capable of solving Ghana’s problems.

Wisa added that the “Free SHS” policy being preached by the Akufo-Addo at that time was the best that could happen to Ghana’s education system.

It is therefore believed that Akufo-Addo could not just have turned his back on Wisa after he had campaigned for him in 2016 presidential elections.

Therefore, going by the popular saying “one good turn deserves another”, Akufo Addo may have intervened in his behalf in the court case.

Wisa was convicted and charged for gross indecent exposure on April 30, 2018.

He was reported to have shown his manhood to the public during an entertainment event in Accra in December 2015.

Wisa, after being tried in court for nearly three years, was found guilty and fined GHC8,400.

This fine has been paid by his record label led by D-Black.
