Swedru-based afro-beats artiste Patapaa Amisty was in energetic mode as he performed at the 2018 Ghana DJ Awards.
This year’s Ghana DJ Awards was successfully held at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on Saturday, May 5, 2018.
The crème of the nation’s DJs gathered to be rewarded for their excellence in disc jockeying in the year under review.
However, it was Patapaa who stole most of the attention by sending the crowd wild with his enthusiastic moves on stage.
The ‘one corner’ hit maker particularly thrilled the audience when he did his own version of the now popular Akwaaba dance.
The Swedru-based musician was one of the winners on the night, scooping the DJ song of the year award with his hit track ‘one corner’.
Other award winners on the night include DJ Vyrusky, DJ Slim, King Lagazee, Vision DJ, DJ Mic Smith, DJ Shiwaawa and DJ Nyce, among others.
Patapaa Amisty shot into the limelight last year with the sensational hit song ‘one corner’. He was an underground musician until his breakthrough came in 2017 after he performed the ‘one corner’ song at the Akwambo Festival at Agona Swedru in the Central Region.
The song, which comes with its dance and portrays sexual and crazy antics, went viral and triggered a craze among Ghanaians including some celebrities who recorded themselves performing the dance.
