NDC supporters will die if Mahama fails to contest 2020 elections - Allotey Jacobs

- Allotey Jacobs has warned of dire consequences for NDC supporters if former President Mahama does not cotest the 2020 elections

- According to him, per the hope people have in Mahama, some will suffer stroke or even die if he decides not to contest

Many members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) will die if former President John Dramani Mahama fails to contest the 2020 presidential election, Central Regional chaimran of the party, Allotey Jacobs has warned.

Many others, he said, will also suffer stroke as a result of what he considers a bad decision from the former first gentleman of the land.

“If John Mahama decides not to contest, we will be highly disappointed, people will faint, people will be shocked, others will get stroke, in fact others will die…,” he said.

According to Allotey Jacobs, said these things will happen because many are anticipating that the former president will return to lead the NDC in the 2020 polls.

Former President Mahama has sated that he is still thinking of how best to respond to calls on him to contest the primaries of the NDC.

But speaking on Adom FM, Allotey Jacobs pointed out that his declaration is overdue and will come as a surprise and disappointment if he fails to contest the flagbearership slot of the party.

He claimed that many in the NDC including the Council of Elders and the structures of the party, which President Mahama has consulted have given him the green light to lead the NDC again.

It’s long overdue, Council of Elders, all the structures in the NDC including those who matter, all the people who pull strings in the party and almost 95% of the people in the party are encouraging him to contest…,” he said.
