The Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO), of the Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC), Oheneba Akua Manfo, popularly known as Akua Blakofe has resigned her position.
According to Akua Manfo, she was only occupying her government position and receiving a salary for almost 16 months without any job for her in office.
Speaking on Accra-based Hitz FM on Wednesday, as monitored by Attractivemustapha.com, Akua Blakofe disclosed that she has officially resigned her position because the Ghana Tourism Development Company is riddled with corruption.

In a damning Facebook post, the deputy CEO indicated that some officials of the company are not delivering their jobs, but rather interested in traveling and demanding huge per diem from the company.
Akua in her radio interview indicated that she took the bold decision to resign because she wanted to work and not to travel and take per diem.
President Akufo-Addo in February last year appointed Blakofe as the deputy CEO after playing some roles in the 2016 NPP campaign.
Madam Akua Manfo in her conversation also used the opportunity to thank President Nana Addo for allowing her serve under his NPP government.
However, she maintained that she will be better off if she stayed out of government due to the attitudes of some appointees at the company.

GTDC was established in 1972 as a Limited Liability Company to operate as the investment and commercial wing of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts.
The company exists essentially to promote relevant competencies in the management and marketing of tourism projects.
