- He added that his grasp of the English-based Creole language is even considered better than that of some Jamaicans
Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy, has revealed that most Jamaican become doubtful whenever he claims he is from Ghana.
Speaking with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, he stated that he faces the challenge anytime he embarks on a business trip to the country.
According to him, most natives overlook his challenges with their English-based Creole language, and conclude that he is very good at it.
He added that for an African as himself to be deeply involved in Jamaican culture, many of them appears amazed whenever he reveals his origin to them.
“They don’t believe I am an outright Ghanaian. I am an African and we know the root culture and vibes; a Jamaican is a Jamaican, but then they say I speak Patois than some of them…”, he stated.
When questioned about the challenges other dancehall artistes face with respect to Patois, he dismissed the assertion, claiming that it doesn’t usually end in laughter as music is a universal language.
