- Portugal star, Andre Gomes and Gerard Deulofeu top the list of the players that will be surplus to requirement at the club next term
- The Catalans claimed their 25th Spanish League title this season without losing any topflight game
Spanish League champions Barcelona are planning a mass exodus of players at the Camp Nou when this season wraps up later this month.
The Blaugrana have been impressive all season long – winning the league title without losing any game with just two matches to the end of the 2017-18 campaign.
However, the Catalans have revealed they will part ways with eight of their key players on this league campaign wraps up this month.
According to Spanish news site Sport.es, Andre Gomes tops the list of players that will be surplus to requirement at the Camp Nou next season.
The Portugal international has failed to impress the manager since he joined the club in the summer of 2016 from Valencia in a deal worth £31 million.
He has failed to push the likes of Andres Iniesta and Ivan Rakitic in the central midfield areas, and would bring in a nice amount when he is flogged.
Also on the list is Lucas Digne, who also came about the same time as Gomes, but the former PSG star also didn’t live to his billing after his £15 million move two seasons ago. He didn’t give Jordi Alba the kind of competition the club wanted when they bought him.
Paco Alcacer, Denis Suarez, Aleix Vidal are also in the mix, while Rafinha, Munir El Haddadi and Gerard Deulofeu, who spent parts of the season away from the club on loan, at Inter Milan, Alaves and Watford respectively will be let go this summer.
For Deulofeu, it would be the second time he has left Barca - the first being when he joined Everton in 2015, only for the Spanish club to use the buy-back clause two years later.
Meanwhile, Barcelona have won 25 Spanish League titles - eight lesser than Real Madrid who have won 33 in their career.
They also crashed out of the Champions League tournament at the quarterfinal stage after failing to go past AS Roma in Rome late last month.
