- Freddie Blay, says the Akufo-Addo government has performed far beyond his expectations
- Mr. Blay says he will provide a bus each for each NPP constituency
Acting Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay, has said he is providing a bus to each of the 275 constituency arms of the party to be used for commercial purposes to raise funds for its operations.
According to him, the buses will be supplied before the party’s national executive elections on 7 July 2018.
READ ALSO: Most female celebrities are single because they can’t find real love – Yvonne Okoro Mr Blay explained on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme on Friday, May 11 that: “I am supplying buses to all the constituency branches of the NPP. Each constituency will receive a bus from me personally for commercial purposes just to raise money for party activities”.
When asked how he will finance the procurement of the buses, he said: “When you are resourceful, you will be able to do that. You don’t need to do that from your own pockets, no, you can’t do it that way; as a politician, you need to be resourceful and be able to raise funds for activities of such kind.”
The NPP is preparing to elect a new crop of national executives who will steer affairs for the next four years.
Mr Blay will be facing off with Alhaji Short, Stephen Ntim and Dr Richard Amoako Baah in the party’s polls.
Freddie Blay has led the NPP as its acting Chairman since the party’s substantive Chairman, Paul Afoko was suspended in 2015.
Mr. Blay, a former MP for many years on the ticket of the Convention People’s Party [CCP], who crossed carpet to join the NPP, is currently seeking to be endorsed as the NPP National Chairman in the party’s upcoming elections in July 2018.
He picked his nomination forms on Thursday, May 10, 2018.
