Award-winning Ghanaian actor, John Dumelo, on May 12, 2018, said 'I do' to Gifty Mawunya and the two got married at a star-studded private ceremony in Spintex, a suburb of Accra.
Many people were caught ‘off guard’ by the wedding ceremony since there was no hint of it happening until Friday, May 11, when some rumors started going round about the upcoming wedding.
Many social media users were desperate to find out who the lucky woman getting married to arguably, Ghana’s ‘hottest’ actor, John Dumelo.
However, one of the major highlights of the wedding ceremony was when John Dumelo grabbed the microphone at his own wedding to sing a song to the admiration of his family and that of his wife’s family.
It is purported that he was made to sing the song in the presence of his wife and all the other people who were present to witness the engagement.
In the video spotted on social media, John Dumelo sang ‘Amazing Grace’ with the help of a lady believed to be the emcee at the event.

John Dumelo’s wife is reported to be the sister of actress and TV personality, Selassie Ibrahim who is alleged to be an NDC sympathizer and also doubles as the manageress of Smarttys.
She is also believed to be a PhD holder and works with a top firm in Ghana
YEN.com.gh gathered that Mawunya, is a very close friend of award-winning actress Nadia Buari who was the brain or ‘betweener’ in her relationship with John.
The wedding was attending by many high and mighty individuals in Ghana and beyond.
Among the star-studded guests at the wedding were ex-president John Mahama, Yvonne Nelson, Joselyn Dumas, Prince David Osei, Kwame A-Plus and Nigeria’s Ramsey Nouah.
However, news was rife that John Dumelo reportedly dated a lady for 4 years only to dump her and get married to Mawunya 2 weeks after the separation.
