There has been debate on whether Shatta Wale gringo is better than Stonebwoy Tomorrow especially because the two musicians seem to be at each other. The only people that can decide whether one of the two is better than the other remains to be their loyal fans. Whichever musician you fancy and follow, the statistics and charts are never wrong. This is where the battle line might have been drawn.
The two songs compared
A proper comparison between Tomorrow by Stonebwoy and Shatta, fierce competitors in Ghana's music industry is almost impossible because the two songs are very different. However, for the purpose of views and charts performance a look ta how people reacted on various sites could be a great indication of how the two songs that have been recently released have been done so far.
Shatta Wale 'Gringo' video
At the time of its release it appeared as though Shatta Wale gathered more views compared to Stonebwoy’s Tomorrow which had been released a few days earlier. The Gringo by Shatta Wale may have received mixed reactions but still topped the charts on YouTube Unexpectedly even after being released on 27th April, seven days after the release of Stonebwoy Tomorrow song, Gringo Shatta Wale lyrics seem to be more popular, at least going by the iTune charts. More people seem to be viewing it and it stays a comfortable top on YouTube as well. This may have come as a surprise considering that most people had mixed feelings about the same.
This song has great beats that makes people want to put it on repeat which is why it probably did very well. In fact some views on YouTube say that it is the best song in Ghana to be produced which shows its popularity. As far as the message is concerned it may be hard to tell why people took to the song as it is not inspirational. It seems like a great song for the club and partying which could explain the quick views since this is where people listen to this kind of music most.
Stonebwoy 'Tomorrow' performance
Unlike most of other Stonebwoy songs that always went according to the popular dance hall artist’s expectation, Stonebwoy 'Tomorrow' track may have come as a bit of disappointment. This does not make it any easier on the competition that followed a few days after the release of Stonebwoy Tomorrowvideo when Gringo Shatta Wale became a hit and somehow more fancied by followers. Stonebwoy may have had bigger and better goals with his latest song Tomorrow as he had set a target of at least one million views within the first week of the video being released. Unfortunately more than 13 days later the song had not attained a 500,000 view hit. This needless to say was a big disappointment especially compared to the opponent’s song’s performance.

While it would be impossible to compare the two songs because of their major differences, a few things could be said about their performances as tracked by the reactions of viewers and this is what would make a basis for comparison as opposed to the messages in the songs as they are different. However, a quick look at how the two rival artists performed based on the popularity of their latest songs, it is quite obvious that Shatta could have taken this one. Taking similar time frames when comparing the performance, Shatta’s Gringo triggered more conversations and reaction online compared with Tomorrow by Stonebwoy. As things look now it appears as though Gringo will hit over a million views by the 13th day after its release when Tomorrow by Stonebwoy did not attain this.
Most people may have connected and gotten the message in Tomorrow considering that it is an inspirational jam but what brought in the views appears to be the mixed reactions in Gringo. Stonebwoy is trying to educate the listeners that no one knows about Tomorrow and it is important to avoid envy and hate since all people will die. With the message in the song it makes a good point why Stonebwoy expected the song to be a hit. It is one of those songs that is relevant and good for everyone regardless of age and status. With everything going for it, it is very surprising that it did not hit the charts as one would expect. In the end everything about the success of any music released is left to the public. You never know how they will react. It is all a matter of wait and see.
It is therefore easy to pass that with these latest songs, Shatta may have won. Even so, it does not make the competition way less. On the contrary it could be an indication that the battle line has just been drawn and Stonebwoy could be thinking of ways to redeem himself.
