Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD), a Ghanaian radio presenter and fashion designer, stirred the hornet's nest last Friday when he took to Facebook to congratulate John Dumelo on his planned wedding.
KOD had said that Dumelo chose a "quiet" and "unknown" lady for a wife, and that most male Ghanaian celebrities tended to favour such women.
He went on to urge women to learn from that and refrain from being "all over" the place.
"Got me wondering why most men in the public eye settle for quiet/unknownn [sic] women and not the ones all over. That could be a lesson for some of our sisters ooo. Men want women who can make a home and not be all over," KOD wrote.
The radio presenter's remark instantly drew condemnation from many Ghanaian female celebrities, including Yvonne Okoro, Lydia Forson and Juliet Ibrahim and Sandra Ankobiah, who deemed it as a veiled attack on them.
The angry celebrities, most of whom are single and searching, nearly tore KOD apart verbally, prompting him to quickly delete the "offending" post from Facebook.
Faced with the possibility of clashing with the aggrieved celebrities at Dumelo's wedding the next day, KOD chose to stay away from the event.
He later claimed that an important family photoshoot prevented him from attending the wedding.
While KOD was bashed by female celebrities and some "feminists" on social media, some Ghanaians defended him on social media, describing his remark as "the truth".
According them, there are celebrities who are indeed "all over" and whose conduct leaves much to be desired. They said the behaviour of such female celebrities makes them unattractive to men looking to get married.
Here are some celebrities the social media users mentioned as being "all over" the place.
1. Moesha Boduong
Many Ghanaians were appalled recently when Moesha Boduong granted an interview to CNN and confessed that she was sleeping with a married man. She said the man was taking care of her rent and other expenses in exchange for her sleeping with him. Some social media users say when KOD talks about some ladies being "all over", he is referring to people like Moesha.
2. Xandy Kamel
Xandy Kamel is another celebrity who has been described by some Ghanaians as being "all over". The actress was recently in the news after she described her Kumawood colleague, Bill Asamoah, as a "one minute" man. She had earlier called another Kumawood actor, Big Akwes, "weak" in "jigi jigi".
3. Rosemond Brown
Social media users have tagged Rosemond Brown as an attention seeker and "loose talker".
She has admitted to being in a relationship with a married man, who is sponsoring her day in day out. She also recently stated that she did not mind if dancehall star, Shatta Wale, "chopped" her "tonga" for only one night.
Nayas has been mentioned among the "all over" squad by some Ghanaians for sleeping with a married gospel artiste, Ernest Opoku, and later claiming that she was pregnant for him.
She shocked Ghanaians when she forced her way into the studio of Adom FM in Accra and lashed Ernest Opoku with a cane while he was on a live radio programme.
Subsequent media reports have raised doubts about the authenticity of her pregnancy.
