Kweku Baako speaks of threats made against him
- Ghanaian journalist, Kweku Baako, has opened up about threats he received as a result of his comments about the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
- He is reported to have stated that he would never kneel before the king
- This declaration was met with mixed reactions from social media users
The Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Abdul Malik Kwaku Baako Jnr, has revealed that he has received threats from an unknown person.
According to him, this was in relation to his declaration that he would never before the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
He revealed that the threats, which were communicated via a social media platform, sought to frighten him from stepping foot in Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti region.

He further stated that this was because his comments about the Asantehene were seen as a form of disrespect to the Asantehene.
“Out there I’ve seen a lot of attacks and threats on social media. There was one man who said he will come to Peace FM, seize my bags and burn them”, he revealed on Metro TV.
Kweku Baako is reported to have said on Peace FM that Ghana’s constitution does not recognize the monarch system, and that his decision not to kneel before the Asantehene is “not to show disrespect to the King, but a matter of choice.”
According to him, his decision was “just matter of choice”.
His comment has since attracted mixed reactions as some claim he is being disrespectful towards the Asantehene.
