The comment represents a remarkable revelation from Gifty Gyan, who has kept a low profile, despite her husband's massive fame. She has always striven to keep her personal affairs private, avoiding media appearances and interviews.

Her comment also comes amid a national debate on the role of women in the kitchen.

While some "feminists" on social media have suggested that women cooking for their husbands could amount to "slaving away", Gifty Gyan appears to have embraced this role.

It appears, based on her post, that she feels proud cooking not just for her husband, but also for her three children.

Many Ghanaians have rejected the assertion that women cooking for their husbands could amount to "slaving away'.

Dr Joyce Aryee, a public figure, has also rejected that assertion.

“I don’t think cooking for your husband can be seen as slavery, No I don’t think so…making food for the one you love must not be seen as slavery," Dr Aryee said in an interview with Accra-based Starr FM.

Gifty Gyan is not the only one who seems to have fun working in the kitchen.

Nigerian female billionaire, Folorunsho Alakija, also said in an interview that she still cooked for her husband, despite her rigorous work schedule.

"I still wash his undies until six years ago that he insisted I should stop. I also prepare his special vegetable dish, do his manicure and pedicure regularly.

"I go to the airport to pick him whenever he’s returning from foreign trips. It gives me joy whenever his friends praise my vegetable dish based on what my husband tells them,” she said.
