- Mzbel has accused the NDC of abandoning her after she got involved in an accident recently
- Mzbel said the situation is making her learn her lessons
- Mzbel's outbursts come after a visit by the NPP MP for her area, Tina Asante
Songstress Mzbel has expressed her disappointment in the leadership of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for abandoning after she suffered a motorbike accident recently.
According to her, though the accident left her bed-ridden for days, no NDC official saw the need to even call to check up on her.
In long Facebook post, Mzbel disclosed that she is now learning her lessons from all that had happened.
The musician's lamentations followed a visit by the Member of Parliament for the Weija Gbawe constituency, Tina Mensah to see how Mzbel was doing.
“For the love of my political party NDC, I offended a lot of people, jeopardized my career and was verbally abused, beijut that didn’t deter me to keep fighting for what I believed in. It’s sad that I’m temporarily stuck in bed now due to a minor accident and not even a phone call or text message from any of the people I genuinely supported, to wish me well… And the amazing fact is that Honourable Tina Mensah, mother for my constituency, the woman I strongly campaigned against rather visited me yesterday when she heard about the accident.
She appreciated the members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who paid her a visit saying “I am learning my lessons and I’d also want to appreciate madam MP for the love and care, even though we were on different sides, God bless you… You are just too real *Teary Eyes* If I had died, the story would have been different with big speeches and donations… Oh my people,” she posted.
Born Belinda Nana Akua Amoah, Mzbel was one of the many celebrities who openly campaigned for former President Mahama in the run up to the 2016 general elections.
In fact, she was so close to Mahama that he once described her as his 'naughty daughter' on social media.
And even in opposition, she can be described as a loyal NDC person as she often criticises the ruling government.
It therefore comes as a surprise that party would ignore her as she is claiming.
