- Kennedy Agyapong has questioned the right of investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, to make investigative reports
- He said Anas should not be allowed to show his latest investigative piece to the public
- Kennedy Agyapong said Anas’ action could put the NPP government in jeopardy
Hon. Kennedy Agaypong, Member of Parliament for Assin Central, has spoken again about Anas and his latest corruption video on the GFA.
YEN.com.gh reported last week that Kennedy Agyapong was mentioned by the embattled President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), as one of his “links in government.”
The report went haywire, heightening the interest of the general public to see the full video and how Kennedy Agaypong’s name appears in it.
But even before the date scheduled to broadcast the video - June 6 - is due, Hon, Kennedy Agyapong is against it, saying that Anas should not be allowed to show the video to the public.
Now, Kennedy has said Anas does not have the "right to do what he is doing"; adding that his action could land the NPP government in trouble.
In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh on Ghanaweb, the Assin Central MP said Anas has no right to carry out such investigative reports, therefore, he must not be allowed to show the video.
He also said that Nyantakyi talked too much in the video, but there is no proof that if he collected those huge sums mentioned in the video, he would have given them to the President, the Vice President, and the others whose names he mentioned in the video.
“What proof is there that Nyantakyi would have given those sums to the President and Vice President? But the impression would have been created that he gave it to them and that could worry the NPP government,” Kennedy Ayapong fumed.
He added that Anas has no right to go ahead and video Nyantakyi, and so he must be checked because he is “going too far”.
Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, in an earlier report by YEN.com.gh was fingered by Kwesi Nyantakyi as one of his “aides”, and also called Agyapong his “small boy.”
But the MP, who could not speak specifically on the issue, only said that he can never be Nyantakyi’s small boy.
Meanwhile, Kwesi Nyantakyi has been charged with fraud, following President Akufo-Addo’s complaint to the CID to have him arrested.
He is said to be assisting with investigations.
