Liverpool star Mohamed Salah's injury saga during the Champions League final has taken a rather strange twist, with an Egyptian lawyer seeking to sue Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos for intentionally injuring the forward.
YEN.com.gh understands that the lawyer, identified as Bassem Wahba has since launched a lawsuit against Ramos for causing physical and emotional torture upon the North African nation and the Liverpool ace.
Speaking to an Egyptian television channel, Wahba contended that Ramos' clumsy challenge on Salah was intentional, and therefore the Spaniard should be held liable for the ex-Roma star's injury.
"Ramos intentionally injured Mo Salah and should be punished about his actions," Goal.com quoted the lawyer. "I'll ask for compensation, which could exceed €1 billion, for the physical and psychological harm that Ramos gave Salah and the Egyptian people," Wahba added.
However, Egypt's medical team has since exuded confidence that the 2017/2018 EPL top scorer will shake off the injury and feature for his nation in the global showpiece in Russia.
Following the unprecedented injury, Salah was substituted in the first-half during the Saturday, May 26, tie as his side went on to lose the match 3-1, with Real Madrid claiming the coveted European title.
