Over the few months, Ghanaians have witnessed reports of some popular gospel musicians who have been accused of having illicit affairs with people who are not their legitimate sexual partners.
These musicians have been alleged to have had, or still having illegitimate affair with others, to the extent that some of them even committed or attempted abortion.
The most topical issue on this subject has been the case of Ernest Opoku, who was lashed in the studios of an Accra-based radio station recently.
Issues of this nature usually surprise Ghanaians because when someone is a gospel musician, it is believed that he or she upholds moral standards.
Therefore, going to the extent of sleeping with another man’s wife or another woman’s husband becomes a serious sin to the worried observers.

1. Ernest opoku: Ernest Opoku, according to reports, has dated some women in the entertainment industry, specifically actresses. He is said to have dated voluptuous Kumawood actress, Tracey Boakye, and this was confirmed by the actress herself.
Another name that is linked with Ernest Opoku is actress Nayas. This relationship went sour after Nayas reportedly told Ernest that she was pregnant. Ernest asked Nayas to abort the pregnancy in order that he might save his image and career.
But Nayas, according to reports, connived with a doctor to lure Ernest into believing that the abortion had been carried out. Unfortunately, when Ernest Opoku got to know that he had been fooled into believing that an abortion had been carried out, he got angry, and termed his relationship with Nayas as a mistake.
This description by Ernest infuriated Nayas who stormed the studios of Adom FM early in May to lash Ernest Opoku. He was reportedly conducting a live worship at the station when the lashing went on. The case is still being handled by the police.
