One of the men who partook of a gang action to defile a young lady has been slapped with a 7-year jail sentence.
Ernest Asare, just 20-years-old, felt the hand of justice when a Kumasi Circuit Court tried his case involving the defilement of the helpless young lady in December 2017.
The 'gang-rape' video at Bantama ignited national outrage as many called for the heads of the three suspects to roll.
Ernest was not alone in the sentencing. In fact, his two other colleagues have been referred to a close-by district court for their sentence.
The Bantama defilement case came to light after a video circulated by the suspects started to trend on social media.
In this worrying video, you would find all three men taking turns to defile the young girl who fiercely resisted their attempt despite being pinned to a bed by one of the perpetrators.
The minister for gender and social protection, Otiko Djaba, called for an emergency investigation into the matter promising to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book.
