Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, has released photos believed to be that of investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas on TV and on social media in a bid to ‘expose’ the journalist.
The photos have been making rounds on social media since yesterday, May 30 and it has raised a lot of concerns regarding the motive of the MP for releasing the photos and the security of the award-winning journalist.
Speaking in several interviews with the last monitored on Net 2 TV by YEN.com.gh, the legislator condemned the modus operandi of the investigative journalist and alleged that he (Anas) had amassed wealth for himself using blackmail.
Hon. Kennedy Agyapong further revealed that he had in his possession, some videos which could implicate Anas for wrongdoing judging by the way he operated under cover.
However, it is yet to be ascertained if the pictures that have been released by the Member of Parliament are indeed photos of the undercover journalist.
In the wake of the release of the alleged pictures, some people have reacted and have registered their displeasure over the banter between the legislator and the journalist.

1. Nana Aba Anamoah snaps!
Award-winning journalist, Nana Aba Anamoah, after the alleged photos were released went on a blasting spree and called out NET 2 for putting the life of the journalist in danger. She went on to call the staff of the TV station ‘fearos’ over threats they received from the MP concerning losing their jobs.
2. GJA calls for 24-hour protection for Anas
After the release of the alleged photos of Anas, the President of the Ghana Journalists Association, Mr. Affail Monney in a statement has requested for a 24-hour protection for Anas Aremeyaw Anas so that he is kept safe from the attacks of people who wanted to cause him harm over his works.
3. Social Media starts “I Am Anas” Campaign
To show solidarity and safeguard the identity of Anas, some social media users went on to their profiles dressed as Anas and shared pictures all over social media. The intention was to divert attention from the photos that have been released by Hon. Agyapong purporting to be those of the investigative journalist.
4. Salinko sends strong warning to the MP as he fears for his safety
Ghanaian actor, Oboy Salinko, after the images believed to be that of Anas were released, went on air to claim that the one of the pictures was him. He angrily attacked the MP and questioned why he wanted to put his life in jeopardy following the release of the photos. The actor revealed that one of the photos was him during a movie shoot so could not fathom why the MP was telling the whole world that he (Salinko) was Anas.
5. Sources confirm the photo but...
Some close associates of the investigative journalist revealed that just one of the leaked photos was that of Anas but the rest were all fake. Now people have been left with a mystery - to decipher which photo is the real identity of Anas.
