- Bobie-Ansah believes the two men love to control and keep around people who are loyal
- He hints of Ken Agyapong building a group of people who owe the MP a debt or two
Former Multimedia talk show host, Nana Kwabena Bobie-Ansah has compared Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong to former president Jerry Rawlings. According to Bobie-Ansah, the two are similar in character insomuch as they like to control other people.
The former host was speaking to Agoo TV's Baffuor Awuah on the show Yensempa. Bobie-Ansah was of the view that the Kennedy Agyapong has emulated Rawlings' tactic of openly fighting and shaming people.
For Bobie-Ansah, the common thing about all the people Rawlings and Agyapong use the tactic against are people they cannot control.
Bobie-Ansah mentioned that it is important for Ghanaians to understand how Kennedy Agyapong goes about his politics of building "a constituency or empire". This group of people are those Agyapong forced to be loyal to him because they owe him favours
The journalist cited an example in the case of BOST manager, Mr. Alfred Obeng Boateng. The under-fire manager had his job saved by the MP when Agyapong singularly mounted a campaig for Obeng Boateng to keep his job.
According to Bobie-Ansah's analysis, Obeng Boateng will now feel indebted to Agyapong.
The topic of the interview was as a result of a recent series of attacks the MP has launched against investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas. According to Agyapong, the celebrated journalist's style of investigations is suspicious.
