- Kennedy Agyapong believes Anas is even more corrupt than many of his victims he claims to be exposing
- The Assin Central MP says his overwhelming video 'evidence' on Anas will stun many Ghanaians after its release
The New Patriotic Party (NPP), Member of Parliament for Assin Central constituency, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has disclosed that ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas. deserves to die by 'hanging'.
According to the MP, Anas is even more corrupt than the ‘Angel’ many Ghanaians perceive him to be in line with his undercover investigations.
The NPP MP who appears to be waging war against the Ghanaian undercover journalist after his recent exposé, claims Anas in line of his work demands heavy charges from some of his victims in order to leave them off the hook.
Speaking on Accra-based Adom FM on Monday, Mr Agyapong insisted that he has in his possession a video evidence showing Anas negotiating bribe which will shock many Ghanaians upon its release.
“I want to establish clearly that Anas is corrupt. If a customs officer should be jailed for 25 years for taking GHc 50, for Anas and the evidence I have about him, he has to be hanged,” the MP said.
The Assin Central MP who was clearly not happy in his media interaction added that, “We have to hang Anas for the evil things he has done to Ghanaians in the course of his investigations, which he has used to amass wealth in Ghana.”
Kennedy Agyapong in his conversation further stressed that Anas has no moral grounds to investigate acts of alleged corruption in Ghana.
“If I tell somebody he is corrupt, I should make sure I am genuine before I point my finger at someone,” the MP stated.
Anas is in the spotlight ahead of his undercover documentary exposing corruption in Ghana football.
The NPP MP has been widely criticized for inciting violence against the journalist over his fight against corruption in Ghana.
Anas has been widely commended over his recent exposé which has implicated the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantaky, in alleged corruption scandal.
Mr Nyantakyi is said to have used the name of the President, the Vice President and other senior officers of the government to lure some foreign investors interested in establishing businesses in Ghana.
The GFA boss is currently under investigation by the Criminal Department of the Ghana Police Service after the President of the Republic, Nana Akufo-Addo called for his arrest.
