- Franklin Cudjoe has raised red flags over yet another multi-million Euro contract overpriced by the NPP government
- According to Mr Cudjoe, the latest overpriced contract is worth by €165m and in the process over 1000 people have been displaced
President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, has claimed that government has signed yet another contract which is “overpriced” by a whopping €165 million.
According to him, the deal has already been executed and will see a sizable number of workers being relieved off their duties in the process.
He said over 1000 people are set to lose their jobs as a result of the said contract.
Mr. Cudjoe made these revelations in a Twitter post on Tuesday, adding he will disclose the details of the deal soon.
He wrote: “Another contract overpriced by €165m. Contract already executed. In the process over 1000 people have been displaced. Details soon.”
This comes after IMANI berated government over the controversial $89 million Kelni GVG contract.
The Policy tink tank believes the agreement between the Ministry of Communication and Kelni GVG is “needless” and must therefore be terminated because it does not represent value for money.
Kelni GVG is contracted to provide design, development, and implementation of a common platform for traffic monitoring, revenue assurance, mobile money monitoring and fraud management, as per the agreement with the Communications Ministry.
However, the agreement has come under scrutiny, with certain quarters requesting for a full-scale inquiry into the deal.
“The new deal which is totally needless is to do the same thing i.e. ensure revenue assurance, monitor the platform for fraud. What has been added now is to monitor mobile money transactions on the platform,” IMANI president, Franklin Cudjoe previously said about the controversial Kelni GVG deal.
