Ghana’s social media celebrity, Moesha Boduong, has described the kind of criticism she received from Ghanaians after her interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour as a blessing in disguise.
The actress became the topic of discussion in Ghana after she told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour on her 'Sex and Love Around the World' show that her motivation, just like other women in Ghana, for dating married men, is because the economy is so tough in Ghana.
“In Ghana, our economy is such a way that you need someone to take care of you. You can’t make enough money as a woman here. Because even when you want to get an apartment, in Ghana they take two years’ advance and I just started working where will I get money to pay?” she said in the interview some months ago.
But in her first interview since the CNN interview, the actress, who hosted the Red Carpet of this year’s Golden Movie Awards Africa, thanked Ghanaians for lambasting her as it helped establish a cordial relationship with the CNN.
“The whole CNN thing was a blessing. Especially with Ghanaians lambasting me, it went everywhere so yes it has been a blessing. Because of that, CNN had to come to my aid. I didn’t even have their contact but after the whole thing that went viral, they called me back and we have a very good relationship now,” Moesha told JoyNews’ MzGee.
And it seems this good relationship did not end there as she has other things in the pipeline with CNN.
“So, I’m looking at doing so many things with CNN soon and I’m doing something with them. That’s also in the pipeline and will come out soon thanks to my lovely Ghanaians, I love them so much,” she said.
Moesha also revealed that plans are far advanced for her to release a movie about her ordeal.
“I’m launching my foundation soon and will also soon produce my own movie. I’m still writing the story so everybody should expect my new movie. It’s going to be about me and everything around the CNN so people should watch out and yes I’m going to turn that into a fortune,” she said.
Moesha faced criticism this week from National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament and host of TV Africa’s morning show, Obuobia Darko Opoku, for performing poorly as an MC of the red carpet at the just ended Golden Movie Awards.
But the actress has subtly replied Obuobia’s comment and said she will keep doing it till she becomes the best.
