- MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, may soon be dragged before Parliament's Privileges Committee
- This is because he allegedly referred to Parliament as "useless."
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, is likely to be dragged before the Privileges Committee of Parliament.
YEN.com.gh understands that this is because he allegedly described Parliament as “useless.”
The comment was reportedly captured as he called on one of his media companies and spoke on a matter.
According to the Majority Chief Whip, Muntaka Mubarak, the attitude of the MP is becoming unbearable, and for that reason, he will push for the lawmaker to be dragged before the committee.
“He has crossed the line, I am going to raise it, he must be referred to the Privileges Committee, and he must be brought to book,” Mubarak stated.
He received support from the MP for Tamale Central, Inusah Fuseini, who said that the Assin Central MP cannot be allowed to continue in that manner.
Speaking on the matter, the Majority Chief Whip added that it was important that the Privileges Committee investigates the matter.
He however said the move is based on the assumption that Agyapong is guilty, and for that matter, investigations are necessary.
