Award-winning investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas has finally released the much-anticipated Number 12 video.
The video which focuses on corruption in the Ghanaian football arena caught top football administrators including GFA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi in various bribery incidents.
Other people caught in the video were referees who took bribes as low as GHC100 to manipulate the results of Premier League matches.
One of them, Samuel Sukah, took GHC2000 and a goat to rig a Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko match in favour of the Phobians.
Since the information became public, there have been many wondering why Anas and his Tiger Eye PI team decided to bribe Samuel Sukah in favour of Hearts of Oak.
Well, it has emerged that Anas may have made that choice because his sympathies lie with Hearts of Oak.
A man said to be close to Anas has revealed that the award-winning journalist is a staunch supporter of Accra Hearts of Oak.
According to a MyNewsGh.com report, the man who made the revelation also claimed that Anas was not only a supporter but a spiritual guru tor the Phobians.
The man narrated how his uncle took him to a spiritual meeting of Accra Hearts where he met Anas for the first time.
'It was the Friday before a Hearts-Esperance match, my uncle who formed the fulcrum of Hearts’ spiritual icons, had invited me to just follow them today and see something for myself. He had always wished to see me develop into a spiritual entity and loved to have me following him.
We were all waiting in a shrine around 11:00 pm, as the mission called for going to a shrine. Seven of us were already seated but we were told one more person was expected. Before the person came, however, we were to bow down our faces and the lights would be put off until he was seated.
Not long after 11:58 pm, a knock on the door was followed by lights off and we were asked by the high priest to bow. All of us bowed for a few seconds. Then the lights blinked. When I opened my eyes, a short ebony dark guy who was on a high stool with the brand mask of Anas on his face.
“You are at home now, “ said one of the Hearts delegates, “why not relax as usual?”
But I heard him say, ‘I see a new face here. That’s why. Why did you swell the number without informing me?”
All heads turned in my direction. My uncle explained quickly that it was his fault. The decision to come with me was not planned. Nevertheless, he could swear on behalf of me that I was mature and absolutely trustworthy.
“Nobody is absolutely trustworthy” Those were the heavy words of Anas that night. “Where I presuming as you do, I should have been dead long ago”
Then the High Priest said, “I am offering you an unqualified apology. Keep your mask on.”
The rest of the meeting took place therefore with his mask on. That was the closest I have come to Anas. He is a die-hard Hearts supporter as my uncle explained to me,' MyNewsGh reported him as saying.
The man further revealed that it was Harry Zakkour who brought Anas to Hearts and although he is not the typical football fanatic, he has a soft spot for Hearts and anytime the spirits communicate anything to him, he communicates it back to the Hearts authorities.
Guess we now know why Anas may have bribed referee Sukah to cheat Kotoko.
