Just when tensions seem to be going down in Ghana regarding the latest expose of Anas Aremeyaw Anas in Ghana football, another startling revelation in the same sector has popped up.
Former Ghanaian goalkeeper, Richard Kingston, has revealed how he was nearly influenced to take a bribe of 300,000 USD in a match between Ghana and the Czech Republic so that he can play soft for Ghana to lose.
Kinsgston was sharing this revelation in a form of a testimony in a church on Emmanuel TV as monitored by YEN.com.gh.
“This is a top secret I have hidden under my pillow and today, I just want to reveal it to Ghanaians especially the media,” Kingston said.
He continued that before the match, a Ghanaian came to him to introduce him to some big people who would pay him that huge amount just so he could play soft and make Ghana lose.
But for the intervention of his wife who he called and asked for advice, there would have been so much shame on him and all Ghanaians.
According to Kingston, his wife advised him not to take it because she (the wife) was not married to him because of his wealth. He said it hurt him so much later when people branded his wife a witch.
“I just want to clarify this to all Ghanaians and especially the media. This woman over here, I met her in 1995 when I was nobody. We engaged in 1997 and got married officially in 2010,” Kingston said.
"I don't have any other wman in my life and this woman here is a blessing to me."
Anas' 'Number 12' premiered on Wednesday, June 6, at the Accra International Conference Center, running 4 screenings at 3pm, 5pm, 8pm and 10pm.
The exposé captured the GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi, among many other officials of the football governing body in Ghana and match officials who according to the title of the expose have become the number twelve players who influence the outcome of games.
The video also revealed that they influence selection of players and divert funds meant for sponsorship, but the likes of JF Mensah and Kweku Eyiah passed the test by rejecting the monies given them as bribes
