- Anas has been hailed after he finally premiered his Number 12 exposé despite the many attempts to stop him
- But Kennedy Agyapong says the journalist had wanted to to take some money in order to put the exposé away
Award-winning investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw was willing to shelve his Number 12 exposé in exchange for money from the Ghana Football Association(GFA) President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Agyapong, has alleged
According to Ken Agaypong Anas expressed his readiness to “kill” the exposé on the condition that he will be paid.
“He [Anas] had said at Roman Ridge [a suburb of Accra] that if Nyantakyi gave him money, he will take it and kill the case”, the Assin Central MP claimed.
Kennedy Agyapong's statement comes just two days after Anas premiered the Number 12 exposé for the general public.
The exposé which centres on corruption in the Ghanaian football arena caught the GFA President taking a bribe and also using the name of President Nana Akufo-Addo to solicit same while making some very explosive comments about the president and other leading members of his government.
The video also captured leading members of the FA and other football-related people in very corrupt practices.
While many have commended Anas for this exposé, Ken Agyapong has been on a crusade to “expose” Anas for what he describes as the unfair and self-serving methods Anas uses in his practice.
Speaking in an interview on Adom FM's Dwaso Nsem morning show on Friday, Ken Agyapong reiterated his claims of corruption against the award-winning journalist
"Anas isn’t genuine as you people think, I tell you; he is an extortionist, a blackmailer and evil who is destroying people’s lives when he is doing worse things than the people he’s caused to be dismissed from the jobs,” he stated.
Mr Agyapong also alleged that Anas had threatened to come after him if he showed the video evidence of Anas' corruption as he has promised earlier.
“He [Anas] says if I show the video, he would come after me but I want him to know that I will go after him before he comes after me”, the MP stated.
Meanwhile, the much-awaited video evidence from Kennedy Agyapong against Anas has been released as earlier reported by YEN.com.gh.
