- Ghana international Kingsley Sarfo will be spending the next two years and 8 months in Swedish prison for two child rape cases
- He will also be deported from Sweden after serving his prison sentence
Ghana midfielder Kingsley Sarfo has been sentenced to two years and eight months in prison after being found guilty of defilement.
The 23-year-old was handed the sentence on Thursday following a hearing at the Malmo District Court.
Sarfo has previously been involved in a series of cases with the Swedish Police, having earned a “bad boy” tag in the country.
In September 2017, the Malmo midfielder was arrested on charges of defilement after a 16-year-old girl accused him of taking her to bed.
The one-cap Black Stars anchor-man was later granted bail after he told the court that he did not know that the complainant was an underage girl.
Sarfo was, however, re-arrested by the Swedish Police, with prosecutor Rikard Darell calling for a three-year jail term for the player, as well as expulsion for two cases of rape.
Following several sittings and examinations of the evidences tendered, the Ghanaian was found guilty on two counts of rape charges.
He has, therefore, been jailed for two years and eight months.

Also, the midfielder’s contract with Swedish giants Malmo is set to be terminated, CEO of the club, Niclas Carlnén has confirmed.
"You can say this: People who commit gross crimes leading to prison cannot normally represent the club," Carlnén said following the court ruling.
Sarfo has been capped just once by the Ghana national team, having made a cameo appearance in the Black Stars’ World Cup qualifier against Uganda last year.
