The Northern Regional president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Abdulai Alhassan, has resigned from his position.
According to a report by MyNewsGH.com, he tendered in his resignation because he led Anas’ team to the Former GFA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi.
He is also reported to have been captured in Number 12, the video that shows some sports administrators engaged in acts of bribery and corruption.
In a statement, he indicated that after sober reflection and deliberations over happenings in these few days, he reached his decision to leave the office.
He went on to say that in his bid to see the development of football in Ghana, he acted in a manner that brought doom to the game.
Alhassan therefore apologized to Nyantakyi for bringing him into a situation that eventually led to his decision to halt his duties as GFA president.
Abdulai Alhassan was elected as the Northern Regional Football Association Chairman after beating incumbent Adam Munkaila at the elections held on Friday October 2, 2015.
